Al Bustan Centre & Residence holds comprehensive eye test for employees

Free screening in partnership with Visual and Style Opticals LLC

Al Bustan Centre & Residence, the popular hotel-apartment among tourists and businessmen in the heart of Dubai, recently organized a free comprehensive eye check-up for all its employees in association with Visual and Style Opticals LLC.

The session held as part of the property’s Responsible Awareness Program was addressed by Optometrist – Mr. Ivan Tauro and Mr. Asutosh Kumar. The optometrists kicked off the session by bursting a myth followed by many that if an individual conducts a vision screening from their primary care physician; they don’t need to schedule a comprehensive eye exam.

The benefits of the comprehensive eye screening were highlighted such as early detection of any eye diseases and disorders namely cataracts, retinal detachments and macular degeneration, as well as other systemic health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

The comprehensive adult eye examination for the employees included vision screening, diagnosis of the refractive status, colour vision evaluation, measurement of the visual acuity of each eye and looking inside the eye at the retina and optic nerve. Tips on maintaining clear and healthy vision were also shared by the eye specialist and employees who were examined with blurry vision were prescribed with eye glasses.

Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Officer of Al Bustan Centre and Residence, said: “Regular eye screening is an important part of preventive health care. An alarming number of adults and even kids these days continue to spend hours each day looking at computers, mobile phones, tablets and other electronic devices, which leads to digital eye strain and hence it is all the more essential for us to be aware of the preventive measures. We are thankful to Visual and Style Opticals LLC for imparting us with useful information and as a responsible entity we will make sure to host more of such sessions for the benefit of our employees.”
