The mock drill was aimed to instill safety and security measures at all times

Al Bustan Centre & Residence, the popular hotel-apartment among tourists and businessmen in the heart of Dubai, recently conducted a mock fire drill in association with the Department of Civil Defence in Dubai to demonstrate the emergency-response readiness of the staff at the hotel apartment and the shopping centre.

The fire drill and evacuation exercise was organized to check the preparedness of the hotel’s emergency teams and ensure that hotel staff is well-trained and capable of handling emergencies. The drill saw the safety and security teams assembling the guests to the nearest emergency exits to the assembly point and all safety and security related equipment are in excellent condition.

Moussa El Hayek, Chief Operating Officer of Al Bustan Centre and Residence, said: “The safety of our guests and employees is of utmost importance to us. Since accidents can happen anytime, we believe in deploying preventive measures and in being trained hands-on to respond in case of an emergency. We are extremely grateful to the Dubai Civil Defence Team, the Emergency Response Team including the Dubai Police and the Ambulance Services, and the members of the hotel’s security team in making this exercise drill a success and preparing the team to act calmly before professional help arrives.”

Mr. Moussa also emphasized on the fact that all the rooms, meeting venues, health club, corridors and the entrance as well are fitted with latest smoke detectors and fire-fighting equipments are at all times readily available and placed in accordance with the standards of safety and security.
