TCL Communication revealed the latest smartphone addition to its sprawling BlackBerry portfolio at GITEX Technology Week Dubai. The BlackBerry Motion, an all-touch smartphone, is designed to empower the most challenging, on-the-go lifestyle.

“The BlackBerry Motion is an addition to our portfolio that strengthens our mission to deliver new experiences rather than just bringing in another device to the market. We are expanding our footprint and giving the customers the option to choose between a physical keyboard and an all-touch one,” notes Mike Al Mefleh, Middle East Regional Director, BlackBerry Mobile.

This device is the first BlackBerry smartphone to offer IP67 water and dust resistance, a new anti-scratch display technology, and the largest battery ever in a BlackBerry. The sleek purposeful-designed BlackBerry Motion features a hardened aluminium frame and soft-grip textured back to provide greater durability and protection.

“The mid-range device has a 5.5 inch full HD display and other unique features. We adopted an anti-scratch resistance on the display that gives customers 25% better quality than the Gorilla Glass 5. Another key feature that appeals to users who want to be connected at all times is the 4,000mAh battery that offers 32+ hours of mixed use.”

Moreover, the BlackBerry Motion has a Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage. It is also the first dual-sim Blackberry smartphone to launch in the Middle East offering users the opportunity to use different sim cards at a time as well as the option to select which one to opt for when making calls or using data.

Another first to the BlackBerry Smartphone is a personal Locker. “Besides the fingerprint sensor in the front that simplifies access to unlock the phone is the Locker for private folders. Users can now store documents in a private folder that can only be accessed with their PIN code or fingerprint,” Mike explains.

The all-new BlackBerry also offers a delightful imaging experience with a 12MP auto-focus camera that captures sharp, crisp photos in any light, in addition to the 8MP front camera with fixed focus, LCD Flash, and 84-degree wide angle lens.

“The privacy features along with the long-life battery and solid performance of the affordable smartphone are the competitive offerings that differentiate BlackBerry Motion in this aggressive market,” Mike concludes.

BlackBerry Motion will be available in the second half of October for an SRP of AED 1699 in the UAE and SAR 1699 in Saudi Arabia. The product will be distributed by Axiom Telecom in the Middle East, and also available from Etisalat.
