Drone prototype can detect and destroy active landmines
Massoud Hassani, an Afghanistan-born designer who now lives in the Netherlands, grew up in an area near Kabul with landmines. He is developing a drone that is designed to detect and destroy active landmines.
The technology could possibly save thousands of lives — the U.N. estimates that landmines kill between 15,000 and 20,000 people every year.
