NEC Payments to launch cloud-based processing technologies
NEC Payments will launch a public cloud-based core transaction processing platform at GITEX Technology Week 2016, in collaboration with Microsoft.
According to the company, the PCI-DSS compliant platform will be a regional and a global-first on Microsoft Azure and will provide a ground-breaking way of deploying core processing technologies using the Microsoft Azure public cloud.
Andrew Sims, Director and CEO of NEC Payments, said “NEC Payments’ innovative payment technologies not only enable financial institutions, merchants, consumers, and businesses to benefit from new digital finance products, but also facilitate the deployment and growth of these new products in a way that is secure, accessible, scalable and efficient. GITEX 2016 provides a platform to demonstrate our products and services to our target audiences of banks/FIs, merchants, and distribution business partners”.
The Middle East and African market has a strong requirement for financial inclusion in order to promote social development, create digital economies, and reduce the usage of cash in the market. There is also a strong trend towards enabling existing financially literate consumers and businesses to transact using new payments products and channels. NEC Payments noted that it aims to support these demands and growth in the region with products that provide access to a range of services, including multi-currency and virtual online spending accounts, e-wallets, contactless payments, and on-mobile and online payment acceptance. The company recently completed MasterCard certification and achieved PCI-DSS L1 v3.2 compliance of its transaction processing platform.
NEC Payments will be present as a Microsoft Independent Software Vendor and Cloud partner.
