With Dubai being a city with a growing interest in live performance and recorded hip hop from around the world, the band’s performance is expected to attract a large audience, in particular the growing Serbian diaspora, currently estimated at more than 20,000 in the UAE.
According to the Julian calendar, the 13th of January is the Orthodox New Year, also known as the Old New Year informally celebrated in most of the Orthodox countries.
From its inception, Belgrade Syndicate has strived to awaken the minds and souls of the community.
The band released three LPs [“Bsst… Tishinchina!”(2001), “Svi zajedno” (2005) and “Diskretni heroji” (2010)] and five hit single releases [“Govedina” (2002), “Oni su” (2006), “BS Armija”, “Sistem te laze” and “Kasno je”], all of which conveyed strong messages dedicated to the betterment of the Serbian society.
One of their single releases “Sistem te laze” (“The Establishment Is Telling You Lies”), which was published in the week of the Serbian parliamentary elections in April 2016, caused a storm of comments online and social media, forcing the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to release an official statement.
In addition to 17 years of performances under their belt, the band has been involved in a number of charitable activities in Serbia, including taking part in numerous panels at high schools and universities across Serbia to talk with the country’s youth about life values, history, politics, philosophy, and similar.
