TASTE THIS: From burgers to breakfast in Brussels, here’s your news bites
New opening
Are you a burger buff? Then you’ll be excited to know the famous fast food burger restaurant Five Guys has opened in Marina Mall.
The family-run business was started by five sons, hence the name, 30 years ago in Washington DC. Over the years, it has become a popular chain with outlets across the world, including in neighbouring Dubai, but this is the first branch to open in the capital.
All the dishes are made fresh to order and are billed as being 100 percent customisable from the halal burgers, hotdogs and veggie sandwiches to the fries and milkshakes.
Level 1, near Bounce, Marina Mall, breakwater. Daily 10am-11pm. Contact: 02 666 8327, marinamall.ae
Brussels breakfast
Forget about brunch, breakfast is the new meal of the day and we’re loving the sound of this one. Belgian Café is launching Brussels Breakfast so you can start your day right.
We’re talking fresh breads and pastries, Belgian waffles with Chantilly cream and maple syrup, old Amsterdam cheese waffles with confit duck, shakshouka and eggs benedict with buttery sautéed spinach.
Not a breakfast person? There’s a grill corner too so you can fill up on barbecued ribs, hotdogs, burgers and sweetcorn. All this is soundtracked by a jazz duo to complete the experience.
